If you are looking to duplicate a Mul-T-Lock key and/or to add additional items to an existing
Mul-T-Lock key system, please note the following:
All Mul-T-lock products come with a Key Order Card. This card (resembling a credit-card in appearance) is an integral part of the high security, key control system and is used to prove that an individual is authorized to duplicate keys. Without this card, an authorized dealer will not be permitted to duplicate your keys.
In addition, prior to choosing an authorized Mul-T-Lock dealer, you may need to locate one that has the ability to duplicate your specific key type. This will require identifying your keyway (a term used to denote the type of key blanks from which your keys are cut).
Keyway information can be found on your key order card and on your key. Your key order card may vary in appearance from the sample shown below depending upon which cylinder platform your keys belong to and/or upon the date of original purchase, but all will contain keyway information. Your card may also show the contact details for the authorized Mul-T-Lock dealer from whom you originally purchased your product. Contacting the same dealer will ensure that keys and products in your keyway can be provided.
Alternatively, should you choose to visit another dealer, you must first identify the keyway. On the card, the keyway is described by the first four characters shown on the bottom, left hand side of the card (see circled section of card image below).
Keyway information can also be obtained by viewing the number embossed horizontally beneath the bow of your Mul-T-Lock key (see circled number on key image below). And, in the case of Interactive® keys, by identifying the color of the floating Interactive® disk—either silver black or gold (see circled gold disk sample on the key image below). Before visiting an authorized dealer, it is recommended that you contact them by phone or email and provide this information to ensure that they will be capable of duplicating your key or providing additional products for your key.
